What To Do When Business Is Slow Over The Summer

Posted by on Aug 03 2006

I read a good article today on MSNBC: Slow summer? Business owners should get busy. It’s always uncomfortable when things slow down over the summer as your clients, customers and colleagues take vacation. This article gives some good tips and advice.

My suggestion: Take some time-off yourself. Chances are good you could use a vacation. And it’s not like there’s that much going on. Besides, if you didn’t take a break, you’d probably just fret about the slow-down in your business. So get out of Dodge for a while and recharge your batteries.

GREAT ARTICLE! When things are slow for me, I write in my blog, write articles, market my blog on other sites, read other blogs, read books on organizing (my specialty) attend training and more. It’s a great time for me to catch up on decluttering my own office, and get in some professional development time!

I agree with taking a vacation, BZ. I have a colleague who is taking 4-day weekends the whole month of August. Luxury! 🙂
