Here’s a unique group mentoring program exclusively for small business consultants who sell services to business owners and micro-entrepreneurs.
The next Compass Master Program begins Spring 2021.
Do you want to increase reach and revenue?
When you first began as a small business consultant — whether you’re a strategy consultant, copywriter, marketing expert, or website designer — the focus was on getting your first few small business clients and building a profitable business.
As you look toward the future, the challenge is how to take your business to the next level, how to maintain and increase your income, without feeling stressed and overwhelmed, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is a challenging time for all small business owners and we need to pivot our own business while helping our clients to pivot theirs.
Your primary focus should be on creating a business and marketing model to get you through the next 6 months — one that is flexible enough that it can change as world events change, but wise enough that it doesn’t erode what you’ve built or put you in a poor position a year later.
Welcome to the Compass Master Program
Whether you call yourself a coach, consultant, trainer, designer or any other type of service professional, if you are serious about assisting other small business owners and solo entrepreneurs, then this mentoring program is for you.
This is not a training class, it’s a private group mentoring program for small business consultants.
It’s customized to your goals and challenges, so we can brainstorm solutions to current problems.
This unique mentoring program is for small business consultants who serve solo entrepreneurs and small business owners. You can immediately apply the tips and advice you receive, both in your own business development and in serving your clients.
Do you work directly with the business owner and help entrepreneurs get the results they seek?
Then the Compass Mentoring Program is for you!
Do you have these goals?
Business Growth ― Grow your consulting practice, increasing revenues annually and serving more clients. It’s about creating steady and sustainable revenue streams and serving a larger audience.
Business Model Strategy ― Have a crystal-clear, flexible vision of your business model, one which lets you maintain and grow without making mistakes you’ll have to fix later.
Getting Things Done ― Be more efficient in running your consulting business, both when working with clients and in the back-office administration, so you can reduce stress, and allow things to flow naturally.
Tap into the flow of clients and community
There are over 25 million micro business owners in the USA who need help with business strategy, marketing, website design, organizing their bookkeeping, and so much more. Worldwide, the number of micro business owners (businesses with less than 10 employees) is growing exponentially.
And they desperately need your help…if you know how to tap into this marketplace and sell to the small business owner.
Small business consultants and coaches have come to me over the past 20 years, asking for mentoring and guidance about building their own small business consulting practice. I’ve been through 9/11 and the Great Recession, and I’m sure I’ll weather COVID-19, too. I took some important lessons from those first two economic crises, and the most important was this: learn how to pivot quickly and make smart, strategic decisions in the midst of chaos.
I’ve created this mentoring program for small business consultants like you who want mentoring with a seasoned small business consultant, and the special dynamic, support, and wisdom-sharing that private mentoring groups provide.

What Clients Say
I have worked with Karyn on several occasions. Her approach has always been one of looking at market conditions for businesses, designing great curriculum and classes, and successfully training others to succeed. She is uniquely gifted in helping her students and clients recognize and deal with circumstances, plan realistic goals, and reach their full potential. I would recommend Karyn to anyone who is serious about growing personally and professionally.

My work with Karyn has been very productive. Her experience building exactly the type of consulting business that I am trying to do more effectively has been invaluable, she has saved me multiple steps of research –and trial and error –just by sharing this experience.
By having her in my corner I have found myself able to focus on what is really most important in building my consulting business, rather than being distracted by many things that can be done further down the road.
She is fun to work with, each meeting has addressed the exact step that I needed to focus on. I am very grateful to have found her and to have decided to take the step of using her as my consultant and mentor, rather than trying to go it alone.

Why get mentored by me?
I’ve been a consultant to small business owners for 20 years — and I have made all the mistakes a consultant can make! I can teach you what to do, and what not to do, and shortcut your learning curve tremendously. I’ve made an investment in years of study and hands-on experience…let me share that with you.
I taught my first business building class to a group of entrepreneurs in 1996. I have designed the Compass Master Program based on my years as a small business coach, consultant and trainer, and my 30+ years as a small business owner.
- I have owned five businesses and sold three of them.
- I have served small business clients in 48 industries, and I bring that world of knowledge directly to you.
- I have taught over 280,000 students the business and personal development skills they need in order to grow and streamline their businesses.
- I have designed over 50 business development classes and have written seven books. I’ve been running my two blogs for nearly 20 years. These help me leverage my intellectual property.
With all this skill and experience, I know quite a few shortcuts — ways to help you acquire skill and grow your own consulting business.
What’s included in the Compass Master Program
Private one-on-one Kickstart meeting
When you first join Compass, we’ll schedule a private 2-hour intensive Kickstart meeting, so we can talk about your business and design a business model based on your goals and ideas.
Monthly group mentoring meetings
We meet as a group once a month via video conferencing. Each participant has an opportunity to bring their questions for discussion. This will help you find solutions with my support and the support of a community as new challenges arise. As you design and implement your action plan, you move forward quickly by solving problems as they arise.
This group mentoring program for small business consultants has an added benefit — you learn how the other participants are designing and running their consulting business, so you can share the collective genius of others.
Access to me between meetings in our private message forum
Problems and questions arise between our group meetings, right? So, I’m giving you access to our private message forum, where you can ask me questions 24/7 between meetings.
Is this the right mentoring program for you?
This program is designed for serious, motivated small business consultants, who want to navigate these challenging times and serve their small business clients better.
- If you are completely committed to your consulting practice, and you are wholeheartedly devoted to solving problems and strengthening your skill set and mindset, then this program is for you.
- If you need to navigate the confusing waters we’re in, if you need to think strategically and take action, this is the right program for you.
- If you want mentoring from a seasoned small business consultant, and you want to share best practices with other consultants to shorten the learning curve, then Compass is right for you.
Who is NOT right for the Compass Master Program for small business consultants?
- If you want to “dabble” in coaching and consulting, if you aren’t ready to work hard to build your skills and grow your consulting practice, this program is definitely not for you.
- This program is not for business consultants who want to market to mid- and large-sized corporations where there is a gatekeeper between you and the sale. And this program is not for consultant who work with the management team or staff of the business owner. This program is for consultants who work directly with the business owner as their client.
The Compass Master Program is $350 a month with a three-month commitment. After that, it’s $350 ongoing monthly.
The next Compass Master Program begins January 28, and you’ll want to schedule your private Strategy Session with me by January 22. Apply today and get started immediately!
What Clients Say
We’ve always struggled with getting organized around our brand position and message. Karyn gave us enormous confidence around how strong our brand could be and identified the tactics to build better brand awareness. She added tremendous value in everything from the challenge of naming our company, to how to ensure that we were viewed as authorities in our space. This allowed us to demonstrate our expertise and drive more sales. Karyn helped our consulting business focus where and how to invest our energy – without her counsel, it’s hard to imagine where we would be now.
Peter Gross & Kyle HainesdotOrg Consulting and Build Consulting
After struggling to develop a growth plan for my professional organizing business, I hired Karyn as my small business consultant. It wasn’t always an easy process, but now I have a very solid plan — and more importantly vision for myself and my business. Through the process, Karyn balanced support with direction and the ever-present thought provoking question.
With her wealth of knowledge and her depth of experience, there was never a business question I had that she didn’t have an answer to. Thank You, Karyn.
